16 Jan Low Carb Bourbon Spiked Hot Chocolate
This Low Carb Bourbon Spiked Hot Chocolate will become your new favorite winter go-to treat. With only 2 net carbs per serving, indulge without the guilt, and curl up by the fire! See the original post here: https://afullliving.com/low-carb-bourbon-spiked-hot-chocolate/
Start by bringing your water to a boil in a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat.
In a bowl, mix cocoa powder, salt, KetoseSweet+ Liquid, and cinnamon together.
When the water comes to a rolling boil, slowly whisk in all your dry ingredients. Add it in carefully and whisk vigorously so there are no clumps. It should thicken and be clump free when it is ready.
After all the dry ingredients are added, slowly whisk in the almond milk, and vanilla extract. Let the mixture cook on the stove on medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring every so often until the mixture has reached your desired drinking temperature.
Slowly whisk in the heavy whipping cream.
Now, slowly whisk in your bourbon and taste as you go. We went with 2.5 oz, but have made it with up to 4 oz of bourbon before. Truly depends on how boozy you like things to taste, so, taste as you go to ensure it fits what you like!
Now, over medium-low heat, let the cocoa return to the temperate you want.
Pour into mugs, top with whipped cream (optional) and dust with cinnamon or cocoa powder. Enjoy!
